1946 Chevy Panel Truck
1946 Chevrolet Custom Panel Truck
Though we are not generally known as a Custom Car Shop, we certainly have the equipment and talent on-hand to build hot rods and customs. After a multi-year build, the 1946 Chevy Panel Truck hit the streets for the first time in 2011. We are very proud and pleased with the final result. The truck won BEST IN CLASS honors in its debut at the 2011 Pittsburgh World of Wheels show and again to BEST IN CLASS and BEST STREET INTERIOR at the 2016 Pittsburgh World of Wheels.
Part of the Don Fezell Collection, this beautiful 1946 Panel Truck was personally commissioned by noted veteran NHRA drag racer and muscle car collector, Don Fezell of Dubois, PA. as his personal “Grocery Getter”. It is one of the stand-out vehicles in his extensive collection.
Completely designed and hand built by our shop, the truck features a custom chassis and drive train to compliment the striking Corvette Red paint job.
The '46 is powered by the tried and true Chevrolet 350 small block V-8. A custom “old skool” air cleaner tops the 4 barrel carburetor and block hugger headers route through a stainless steel exhaust system with custom 3D printed tips. A GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission delivers the power to the 9” Ford rear end. The suspension features Aldan shocks and four wheel Wilwood disc brakes supply the stopping power to the Billet Specialties wheels.
Numerous features, including on-board GPS, Rear View Camera, Custom Dash and Steering Wheel and a micro-fridge stand out in the interior. Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout the build. With less than 2000 miles on the vehicle since built, it is virtually brand new.
